1:40 scale model of St. Peter’s Church
St. Peter's Church is in West Molesey, Surrey, the church tower is 15th century and the oldest building still extant there. I made a model of it during my Design Technology O'Level in 1982. It was in a cupboard in my old family home for many years and recently I have refurbished and added to it. I have given it to the church and at the moment it is being turned into a feature, with a perspex case and possible interactive lighting! I am hoping to have some photos of it in its new home some time next year and I will post them on here.
There are photos in this section which go back in time from its current state to when I first took possession of it again about 2 years ago.
The finished model. This view is the front entrance and the aspect that faces the main road.
This view shows the nave on the end of that main body of the church that I added to the model this year. It had always looked like part of it was missing before.
The new nave.
I added the supporting brick structure and a new door and windows.
The back view, non-street facing aspect of the church. There is actually another apexed building attached to the back of the main body of the church but this still is in keeping with how it looks.
This is the condition of the church when I started to refurbish it. There were some old windows but they soon fell out.
The end before I added the nave.
