artweeks 2012:exhibition @ the ultimate picture palace
A group of five artists exhibited film-related artworks at Oxford's independent cinema The Ultimate Picture Palace for Artworks in 2012.
The cinema was the perfect venue for an exhibition of film related artworks. I have a deep love of birds and the natural world, so celebrating some of their roles and inspiration in classic films was a completely enjoyable experience for me. I made a Hollywood walk of fame star for them all to go along with the papier maché perched or boxed birds. Some of them were factual and straightforward and some were more humourous. I dressed as Tippi Hedron for the Private view and we all made small films which were played on the cinema screen with a film-related sound track. https://www.facebook.com/groups/uppartists
